Meet Brice Larimer-Oates – “Brice, The Candle Guy”
Life doesn’t always go as planned, and for Brice Larimer-Oates, “Brice the Candle Guy,” the journey into luxury fragrance took unexpected but meaningful turns. Growing up in Wyoming, Brice was inspired by the fine fragrances his mother wore on special occasions, igniting a lifelong passion for scent.
After moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting, Brice took a job at Candle Delirium, where his fascination with luxury fragrances flourished. What began as sweeping floors evolved into working with an impressive roster of high-profile clients, including Beyoncé, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Charlize Theron, and Harry Styles. Brice became known for curating bespoke scents for their homes and events, transforming luxury fragrance into an immersive experience.
His career took a significant turn when he met interior designer Jason Larimer-Oates, a longtime customer who later became his husband. Together, they formed a design company, rebranding Brice as a luxury fragrance consultant, entrepreneur, and influencer.
With nearly two decades of experience, Brice has collaborated with top celebrities, estates, restaurants, hotels, and industry leaders to create custom fragrances. His work has enriched the lives of stars like Adele, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Elton John, and Jennifer Hudson, among many others. Brice believes that exceptional fragrance can inspire greatness and continues to dedicate his life to helping others achieve olfactive perfection.

Life does NOT always go as planned and rarely does the outcome look in accordance with the painstakingly formulated path.
Brice Larimer-Oates – Brice the Candle Guy – imagined waxing poetic would be the journey, though slightly less “on the nose.” Growing up in Wyoming, one of his most vivid memories was his mother’s mirrored perfume tray. There was something unrelentingly appealing about opening each of the delicate glass bottles, unusually shaped vials of fine fragrance that would waft through the house anytime there was an important family dinner party, parental date night or grand holiday gathering, weddings, funerals or beautifully significant occasion. Intrigue and allure surrounded the idea of refinement contained in each beautifully crafted bottle and intricately layered fragrance. In fact, the smell of his mother’s embrace still sits close to the forefront of his childhood memories. The bouquet of his grandmother’s morning routine lingering on her Chanel suits and cotton robes fills his distant memory of her life and love. Leather, cedar and wool still reminds him of the unconditional love and tireless work of his father’s traveling sales position. In hindsight, or rather hindscent, it is apparent that those seemingly insignificant memories were leading to something far greater, considerably more integral to his life story and life’s work.
After being accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles became the setting, the backdrop, and the destination. A performing career had been the original direction, having been on stage from near infancy, but as with many actors something had to support the pursuit: a day job.
Enter Candle Delirium. What started as a job sweeping floors and packing boxes lead back to the insatiable curiosity with luxury fragrances from global markets. As Brice would unpack each of the boxes, sitting on the concrete floors, he would sit mesmerized by the unique blends and captivating stories, developing a “nose” in the most comprehensive way, from the literal ground up. As the store grew in both size and notoriety, Brice moved into sales. Frequent celebrities and globally recognized faces became his daily customers as he fragranced their estates and lifestyles, honing the skills necessary to create more than a scent, but a vibe, an ambiance, a lifestyle. Dedicating nearly two decades to this work purpose and passion filled his daily fragrance pursuits as his theatrics became employed in merchandising, design and décor and his performance background in the backbone of the sales, marketing and social media sphere of the world’s premier destination for luxury home fragrance.
One fateful day, early in his tenure, a customer gleefully wandered into the store exuding an aura of kindness, compassion and love, altruism and breathtaking energy emanating from every ounce of his being. Little did Brice know this fine fragrance and design obsessed man would eventually transform his life’s journey, he would alter the course forever. That man shopped for years, seemingly enamored with everything the shop had to offer. An incredible interior designer, he utilized many of the fragrances in his work, he would bring in client after client, fragrancing fabulous estates with unparalleled envelopments of scent. After seventeen years, watching each other’s lives unfold, becoming close friends, he finally moseyed in…single where Brice finally found his opportunity to capture this man’s obsession in a more meaningful way. Jason Larimer-Oates had no chance, and within six months they were married and began planning a life’s journey. With his experience and expertise Jason propelled Brice into his next phase, the utilization of years behind a counter into bringing luxury fragrance passionately and energetically outside a retail confine to a larger audience, and with the sky as the limit, the world. They formed an unstoppable team, creating a design company within the first month of their engagement rebranding Brice from company spokesperson to luxury fragrance entrepreneur, consultant and influencer.
Brice has created hundreds of fragrances and products for celebrities, estates, restaurants, hotels and brands, collaborated with industry leaders, brand owners and executives at the highest levels of the industry in his career now spanning nearly twenty years. His endeavor is to make the world a better place through purposeful action and meaningful connection through the modality of fragrance. He truly believes that incredible fragrance can inspire incredible things and has dedicated his life to other’s desire to live a lifestyle in olfactive perfection.
