Nu-Blu's "When It Rains She Pours" Debuts in the Top 10 on the Bluegrass Today Chart!
Nu-Blu, the acoustic powerhouse band, celebrates as their latest single, “When It Rains She Pours,” debuted today in the Top 10 on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Radio Chart, hitting the #9 spot.
The track, part of their 20th-anniversary album “Where You’ve Been” on Turnberry Records, showcases Nu-Blu’s signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and bluegrass authenticity.
Penned by renowned songwriters Tim Stafford, Kim Williams, and Larry Shell, the song instantly resonated with Nu-Blu's Daniel Routh, who knew it was one he had to sing. Reflecting on the song’s impact, Daniel shares, "One of my favorite songwriter combos has always been Tim Stafford and Kim Williams, but add in Larry Shell and you're sure to get a great song - and we did! The first time we heard this song, we fell in love with it. Typically, I wouldn’t grab on to a song and say hey, I’m definitely singing that one, but I knew the second I heard it that I HAD to. We are so excited that radio is spinning it!”
“Where You've Been” is a narrative-driven album that reflects on Nu-Blu's journey over two decades, encapsulating the emotional ups and downs that have defined their career. With themes of time, resilience, and love woven into every song, the album takes listeners on a journey through life’s pivotal moments. From the introspective title track, "Where You've Been," to the powerful family heritage explored in "Horse Thieves and Moonshiners," the album culminates in poignant tunes like "Nobody's Business But The Moon" and "That's Just Life."
Adding to the album’s depth, “Where You've Been” features collaborations with renowned artists, including Jim Peterik (Ides of March, World Stage, and Survivor), who performs on his original song "Trains" alongside Carolyn, and Jody McBrayer, whose duet with Carolyn on "Jesus Loves You" adds a soulful touch. Bluegrass legends Sharon White and Ricky Skaggs also lend their voices to "The Will," a deeply moving track that resonates personally with Carolyn, who recently lost her father.
Nu-Blu continues to bridge traditional bluegrass with modern storytelling, further reaching fans through their music videos and the syndicated TV show “Bluegrass Ridge,” which broadcasts to 120 million homes worldwide. Their video for "Horse Thieves and Moonshiners" hit #1 on the bluegrass video charts, and their upcoming in-studio video for "The Will" is set to capture the song's raw emotional essence.
Led by husband-and-wife team Carolyn and Daniel Routh, Nu-Blu has cemented their status as a leading act in bluegrass, combining five Top Ten Billboard albums with accolades for their unique ability to connect emotionally with their audience. Their latest album, *Where You've Been,* is a testament to their dedication to bluegrass and their ability to explore new creative territory.
