Hailing from Virginia, SJ McDonald's journey in music began with a passion for storytelling and songwriting. In 2017, she made the pivotal move to Nashville to pursue her dreams further, studying songwriting at Belmont University. Since then, McDonald has made her mark on the Nashville scene, captivating audiences with her performances on Lower Broadway, touring, and releasing music independently.
Her previous single, "Break A Cowboy," has garnered attention from editorial playlists, showcasing McDonald's ability to captivate listeners with her authentic country sound and emotive lyrics. McDonald's dedication to her craft extends beyond her solo endeavors, as she actively collaborates with fellow artists, earning co-writing credits and cuts with major label acts such as Mackenzie Carpenter and Mae Estes.
Along with the announcement of signing with Major Bob Music, McDonald also released her new single, “Hummingbird” this past Friday.
