NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 13, 2026) — The debut episode of The Sessions, a documentary music series from Memories of Honor’s Music Remembers Project, premieres tonight at 5:30 PM CST. The Sessions explores the deeply human intersections of music and memory, examining how songwriting can give voice to emotions that are often left unspoken.

The premiere episode brings together a combat veteran songwriter and the father of a fallen U.S. Army soldier—Dennis Leftrick, whose son SPC Benjamin Leftrick made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country, and Brooks Herring, a combat veteran and singer-songwriter—to co-write a song inspired by the phrase so many people use to mask their pain: “I’m good.”

Together, the two men sit down for an intimate songwriting session that honors memory, service, and the courage it takes to speak honestly about loss.

The resulting song, “I’m Good,” written by Herring and Leftrick and performed by Herring, serves as both a tribute and a testament to music’s unique ability to help process grief and uncover strength.

Created by Amy Cotta, The Sessions invites viewers into authentic conversations about remembrance, resilience, and healing. The series is designed not only for veterans and surviving family members, but also for creators, music lovers, and anyone who believes in the power of authentic storytelling.

“This project is a journey into the heart of songwriting and the stories we carry,” said Cotta. “Music creates space for connection, reflection, and healing—especially when words alone are not enough.”

Viewers are encouraged to join the premiere live and participate in the real-time conversation through the live chat. Memories of Honor is also celebrating a community milestone, inviting audiences to help reach 1,000 subscribers during tonight’s premiere.
